A shoulder injury, which Muhammad Mokaev announced before the new year, will not prevent the 22-year-old native of Dagestan from taking part in the UFC 286 tournament, which will be held on March 18 in London.
Mokaev’s rival will be the organization’s rookie Jafel Cavalcante Silva, who received a contract with the UFC in September last year thanks to his successful performance in the Dana White’s Contender Series qualifying show. Including the last fight, the 29-year-old Brazilian is on an impressive streak of five early wins.
Representing the UK, Muhammad Mokaev is undefeated and has three UFC victories to his credit, in his last bout finishing with a lever arm in the third round of Malcolm Gordon. Mokaev currently occupies the fourteenth line in the UFC flyweight division ranking.
Recall that the main event of the UFC 286 tournament will be a welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman.
