Khamzat Chimaev’s team denied the information spreading on the Internet that a Chechen fighter, who is in Russia, was detained in St. Petersburg with an invalid passport.
“Just spoke to Chimaev’s manager, Mahdi Shammas, who informed me that the rumors that Khamzat was stuck in Russia with a revoked passport are not true,” prominent sportswriter Brett Okamoto wrote on social media. “Khamzat is in Russia, but according to Shammas, there are no problems with leaving”
The news about Chimaev’s problems really looks incredible, given that for the past few days, Borz has been visiting the leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, and the day before, he attended a press conference for the ACA 146 tournament, which is currently taking place in Grozny.
According to available information, 28-year-old Khamzat Chimaev was supposed to fly from Russia to Brazil, where he planned to attend the premiere of the film on October 6.
