The management company Dominance MMA, headed by Ali Abdelaziz, stopped working with Khamzat Chimaev due to a conflict between the Chechen fighter and former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
This was announced in the next edition of the MMA Hour program by the well-known sports columnist Ariel Helwani.
“I know that Khamzat Chimaev left Dominance MMA, among other things, because he didn’t have everything exactly with Khabib – they didn’t get along very well, there was some tension, but it’s better to ask Khabib about this on occasion,” said journalist. “Perhaps he will share his thoughts on this matter. Yes, because of this, Ali lost a big fish, so it’s safe to say that Khabib and Hamzat were definitely not best friends. I don’t know the specific reasons, but that’s the way it is.”
Recall that the Chechen fighter left Dominance MMA after a scandalous statement about the undefeated Russian, whom he promised to break in a duel. The public conflict that flared up, in which both team members and fellow fighters took part, was extinguished, but Chimaev and Nurmagomedov continue to periodically offend each other on social networks and the media. In particular, not so long ago, the ex-UFC champion called Borz’s behavior unworthy, pointing out the lack of Muslims in his environment, and Chimaev, in response, reminded Nurmagomedov of the story of tiramisu and the cancellation of the fight against Tony Ferguson.
