Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has opened as the favorite in an upcoming boxing match against renowned blogger Jake Paul, who will headline the Showtime event on October 29.
At the moment, the odds for the Brazilian to win are 1.741 (probability 57.45%), while the success of the American is estimated at 2.1 (probability 47.62%).
The bookmakers published the starting odds a few hours after the organization of the match was reported by sources close to the situation. The fight has not yet been officially announced, but the American side indirectly confirmed this information.
The bout is expected to take place in the 84 kg (185 lb) division, which “Spider” has competed in for most of his career.
After being fired from the UFC in November 2020, 47-year-old Anderson Silva fought three fights under the rules of boxing, in the first of which he won a split decision against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in the second he knocked out Tito Ortiz, and in the third match he dominated his compatriot Bruno Machado, but was not declared the winner due to the exhibition status of the meeting.
Jake Paul, 25, has won five in the ring, knocking out former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in his last fight.
