The seventh number of the heavyweight division of the UFC, Alexander Volkov, spoke about who he would like to see as his opponent in the next fight.
“It would be interesting for me to fight Miocic right now,” Drago said in the next edition of the Hustle MMA podcast. “For me, it would be a good fight in terms of media coverage, it is free, and it would be more or less a convenient fight for me. Basically, why wouldn’t Miocic, who is in the top but not the champion, take the fight with me, especially since I’m the only one available.”
“The question is how the UFC sees it, how much they want to save him, because, obviously, he will not fight for long. His age is right, and given that he rarely fights, has already accumulated some capital, and he has a good job that he loves, he is unlikely to stay long, so I would like to have time to fight him.
Alexander Volkov got his career back on track in June of this year, finishing Jairzinho Rozenstruik with a TKO in the first round, and Stipe Miocic has not returned to the octagon since losing the title in March last year in a confrontation with Francis Ngannou, whom he lost by knockout in second round.
At the moment, the American fighter continues to hold the second line in the ranking of the heavyweights of the organization.
