Popular Russian heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko, who unsuccessfully returned to mixed martial arts last November after more than a year’s break, will have another MMA fight against former UFC heavyweight title challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

The duel was officially announced at the next Hardcore MMA league event, which was attended by both opponents.

“You won against my brother – now fight with me,” said Emelianenko. “I will beat you!”

“Perhaps with this fight I will end my career,” the Brazilian replied. “This will be the icing on the cake – I beat your brother, and I will beat you”

There is no information about the date of the fight yet.

Recall that at the moment Alexander Emelianenko is preparing for a boxing match against Vyacheslav Datsik, which is scheduled by the Hardcore Boxing league for September.

40-year-old Alexander Emelianenko had his last fight in February of this year, in a bare-knuckle fight under the banner of Hardcore FC, defeating Jeff Monson by unanimous decision. In mixed martial arts, the heavyweight is on a two-loss streak, losing by technical knockout to Magomed Ismailov and strangulation to Marcio Santos.

42-year-old Antonio Silva last week suffered his seventh consecutive defeat in MMA, at the MMA Series 53 tournament in Moscow, losing by knockout in the second round to Fedor Team club member Oleg Popov. Including fights in MMA, kickboxing, and fisticuffs, the Brazilian has already suffered nine defeats in a row, eight of them by knockouts.
