Reigning UFC heavyweight title holder Francis Ngannou opened with a multiple underdog in a potential fight against reigning WBC and The Ring heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury.

At the moment Fury’s win odds are 1.067 (93.75% probability), while Ngannou’s success is estimated at 8.5 (11.76% probability).

The bookies released the starting odds shortly after the Gypsy King knocked out Dillian Whyte in the sixth round and confirmed their readiness to fight under the hybrid rules against the Predator.

As for the UFC champion, he is sure that bookmakers greatly underestimate his potential in this confrontation.

“For the past two years, I have been closely watching Tyson Fury, studying his style, and from my point of view, this will be a good evening for me, and not the best evening for Tyson,” the Cameroonian said in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “Yes, I believe one hundred percent that I can knock him out. It’s not easy, but it’s possible.”

According to reports, the heavyweights are going to fight under the rules of boxing, but plan to use a cage and eight-ounce training gloves for MMA. The fight is expected to take place in 2023.
